The café's decor is a fusion of contemporary design and rustic charm, perfect for enjoying a moment of relaxation amidst the bustling energy of Shibuya. Its intimate setting fosters a sense of community, encouraging camaraderie over drinks or quiet contemplation with your favorite book.

What truly sets this café apart is its owner, Henrysan, whose passion for local culture shines through in every interaction. Fluent in English, he is not just a barista; he is your personal guide to the hidden gems of Shibuya. As Fae Lunsford expressed in her review, it's not just about the drinks — it’s about the enriching conversations and tailored recommendations that can make your visit truly unforgettable. Matthew Ts echoed this sentiment beautifully, describing it as a place to “experience real local Tokyo life.”

The menu features a variety of delightful offerings, perfect for casual sipping or a refreshing break. Guests rave about the hand-drip coffee, lovingly crafted to provide a rich and aromatic experience that pairs perfectly with the café's serene environment. Plus, for those looking to unwind after a day of sightseeing, there is a selection of refreshing beers and delightful sake that promise to elevate your experience and provide a taste of Japan’s beverage culture.

In the heart of Shibuya, where street drinking has its challenges, WanderMate CAFE offers a unique escape to enjoy daytime drinks in a friendly atmosphere. As noted by D Silver, this café is indeed a “wonderful hidden gem,” where every visit feels like catching up with an old friend thanks to the personalized service and local insights.

For those who wish to add a touch of adventure to their Tokyo itinerary, Henrysan's recommendations will lead you to less-traveled paths, unveiling the secrets of the city that only locals know. Whether you're indulging in a delightful coffee or sipping on sake, every moment spent here adds to the tapestry of your travel experiences.

For a true taste of Shibuya’s local vibe, look no further than WanderMate CAFE. Stop by to explore, sip, and engage; it's that delightful corner where the heart of Tokyo meets the warmth of its people.

Are you in Shibuya and looking for a couple of drinks, good conversations, and even better recommendations of things to do or add to your itinerary while you're visiting? This is a must stop. My husband and I visited twice and certainly benefited from doing so. The cafe itself is beyond cozy and super cute, but the gentleman working it is the real gem. I don't want to spoil too much for future visitors, but definitely grab a beer and ask some questions. Speaking from personal experience, his insight and recommendations are amazing. I'm very glad to have wandered in. Assuming that we come back (we will), we are for sure going to grab a drink here again.

This is an absolutely wonderful hidden gem in Shibuya area of Tokyo. Henry-san is very well-spoken in English and has the best suggestions for things to do in the Shibuya area. Beer, sake, and bites are delicious. You must hit up this intimate spot near Miyashita Park.

Amazing bar and cafe right around the corner from Shibuya crossing. A great spot for an afternoon beer or morning coffee. Lovely local owner with great English and local knowledge of secret spots to enjoy in the city. Stop by to get a real taste of local Tokyo life & recommendations for your trip. For those who want to experience Nonbei Yokocho/ 'drunkards alley' but struggled to find room in the evening, I highly recommend an afternoon visit to Wandermate Cafe.

Here’s the English translation: In Shibuya, where street drinking is banned, a new almost-street bar, WanderMate CAFE, has opened for daytime drinks. This is a tourist information bar for Shibuya, catering mainly to inbound visitors. For foreign guests with a refined palate who find ordinary experiences dull, the English-speaking owner, who’s also a designer, offers tips on hidden gems in Japan. Enjoy unique pairings like sweet bean paste donuts with beer, or blended whiskey from five different distilleries. If you’re curious about other cultures, be sure to stop by!
